Fingers Crossed

I’m currently reading the book: Chicken Soup for the Romantic soul. I really thank my stars that I took this book, because this was just the book I needed now. Off late the thought of me turning twenty, and thus leaving my teen hood behind, reminded me of the fact that there is just a 30% possibility that I would ever meet my prince charming and thus live happily ever after …  ( I am an Indian – that ought to explain everything); the stories in this book stoked the flame of hope that was beginning to die out; to have hope and keep my fingers crossed over the 30% of my dream …

I happened to listen to the song through heaven’s eyes in Prince of Egypt and the following lyrics touched me a lot; another omen:

A single thread in a tapestry
though its color brightly shines
can never see its purpose
in the pattern of the grand design;
and the stone that sits up on the very top
of the mountain’s mighty face
does it think that it’s more important
than the stones that forms the base?

So how can you see what your life is worth
or where your value lies …

you can never see through the eyes of man
you must look at your life
look at your life through heaven’s eyes […]

Hmm … so I guess I’ll have to leave it to the old guy upstairs and hope for the best, ain’t I?

Fingers Crossed!!!

How was I to Know?

When I was young,

♥ ♥ ♥

I had my first heartbreak.

I would never, ever fall in love again,

I decided.

Whatever that was left of my broken heart,

Was to be locked up in a box;

Safe and sound;

Never to be opened up again.

How was I to know,

What life had in store for me?

Who would have known,

That the box was to be re-opened by you?

When I look back –

To that night years ago,

The night I cried myself to sleep;

– I cannot help, but laugh!!

It’s amazing isn’t it?

All it took you to heal

My battered heart,

Was a kiss and a smile.

How was I to know,

What life had in store for me?

Who would have known,

That the box was to be re-opened by you?

Now, as I stand here,

Beside you at this altar;

You may just say an “I do”- two simple words …

But thousands more are written in your eyes.

You are everything

I could ever wish for.

Wherever life takes us… if you are by my side,

There’s no place I would rather be…
