No matter how modern we claim to be, there are some things that we would prefer “the ol’ way”; atleast I’m sure there are some moments old things just can’t be replaced by the latest things. Music, I believe belongs to this category.

During those days, when I feel that I just can’t take it anymore, I do not know what miracle hits my MP3, but it decides to give me (shuffle mode) Bob Dylan’s Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door. This is the only song of Bob Dylan’s that I’ve heard. When you are sad, depressed and just tired of it all, listening to this song makes you feel like there is someone out there who actually gets what you are going through. Its a melodious and soothing song.

Knockin on Heaven’s Door was written and sung by Bob Dylan as a soundtrack for the 1973 film Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid. The song was released on July 13 1973.

The only fault of this song is that it is too short.

Here’s the LYRICS:

                                                      Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”

Mama, take this badge off of me
I can’t use it anymore.
It’s gettin’ dark, too dark to see
I feel I’m knockin’ on heaven’s door.

Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door

Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can’t shoot them anymore.
That long black cloud is comin’ down
I feel I’m knockin’ on heaven’s door.

Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door

I hope you will enjoy this song. And do let me know what you think 😀
